I promised I would continue on with my weekend!!! So here we go with Saturday...
Buddy and I woke up and had some donut holes. yum. I got showered and dressed for the wedding I had to go to. (Why couldn't I have met him 2 months ago and saved myself the agony of going alone?!) Did the shoe shopping which I mentioned before. And then we kissed and he left. From here, I left to out to bumfuck Long Island to a wedding. However, what I wasn't anticipating was hours of traffic getting there!! I missed the entire ceremony!!!!! On the up and up I decided that instead of wasting the day, I'd drive to my friend's house and hang out at her pool until the reception started. Good choice. No one even noticed I was missing. Besides, it was my birthday...I should be doing what I want!! right? RIGHT?!
So, left the pool party and went off to the reception. Must say, I was the best dressed girl there (I think at least.) (Didn't really like the brides dress...sorry!! She looked great...but I'm not a cake topper kind of girl...) Anyways, I had bought this cobalt blue bandage style dress. (It's a miracle dress...it stretches and squeezes all the right places!) and these blue and purple floral platform heels to go with it. At least I looked good. I ended up getting to the reception and find out that I'm sitting with a few old friends from college that I've been out of touch with. Not too shabby. Except for the fact that they had all recently gotten married!!! The ENTIRE conversation was about weddings. Where was your wedding? what did your dress look like? What did you give as a favor? DJ or band? etc. etc. etc. for 4 hour...etc. Holy crap. It's true what they say...Brides just LOVE other brides because they can all talk about being brides. Someone shoot me. I'm positive that I will be the same way someday and someone will write something very similar to what I'm writing now...but give me a break, please!!!!
On a good note, my friend had the most amazing wedding band! I kid you not...they played the thong song...and WELL. They also played Single Ladies when the bride threw her bouquet which I thought was pretty cool.
I left the wedding around 11 and drove another hour East to Ms. chic's place in East Hampton. I totally needed a day out of the city!!! I got there...went in...went right to bed and literally slept for 10.5 hours.
The next day we went fishing on the boat (caught nothing!!) hung out in the hammock, (see picture below) and took a nap. (Yup those are my legs...eat it up! right...) It was perfect. Had dinner at this new Thai place in Sag Harbor and then went to a friend's house (well, house they were renting...) and went in the hot tub.
Monday I got up at 6 am and drove back to the city to go to work... FML.
