Yesterday we FINALLY got our compensation letters for the year. As I posted previously, I was promoted. So, its fair to say that I expecting some kind of fairly significant jump in my salary. I opened the letter...and ok, I knew there would be no bonuses. My company has been laying people off left and right. HOWEVER. 5%! 5%! Thats it?! I busted my ass all year for 5%!? Are you kidding me?! That is barely above the national average for ANNUAL increases let alone a promotion!!! 5% gives me about $200 extra in my paycheck after taxes. THANKS A LOT.
I know what you are thinking. Queens, be happy you have a job. Queens, lots of people out there are unemployed. Queens, stop whining. And I get it, I do. But if the company is doing that poorly, don't INSULT me with this measly morsel they decided to toss my direction because now I will be screwed next year if I am still here. I obviously will not be ready for promotion by next year and this will not recieve the rest of my salary increase until the year after that. To be quite honest, if this company still exists by that time I will be shocked.
Screw You and your stupid rasise you stupid company.
