First of all, what a wonderful weekend!!!!! I actually got to have 2 birthday celebrations this year. This weekend AND last weekend. I feel very, very lucky and loved. I'm going to break out my weekend into a few posts today because so much has been going on and no one really feels like reading my novel.
So, Friday night was the birthday of a friend of mine as well. Every August he has a huge party for his birthday that pretty much just turns into a weekend of everything getting drunk. The party has toned down a bit since he moved in with his girlfriend in the East Village...but that didn't really stop him from getting hammered at the bar across the street. Woo. Anyways, Buddy decided to come out on Friday night. I had a moment of vulnerability and called him up on Thursday, told him I wanted to see him and asked if he wanted to come to my friend's party with me. He sounded kind of hesitant, so I didn't really think he was game. He did come out twice last weekend and it is kind of far I guess. I didn't have high hopes. Then he texted me the next day asking if I still wanted company. I told him not to worry...it was a long drive at rush hour (2 hours!!!). His words were "cologne is on, wheels are in motion, see you at 8." How cute is that!? Anywho...he showed up to my place with a bottle of wine for my birthday and movie we had been talking about. It was really nice.
So off we went to the party. I feel a little bad about this...this crowd is not the easiest to get along with. They tend to kind of stick to themselves and be kind of cliquey. Either way, he held his own...was not a wall flower...talked to all the people that mattered and charmed their pants off. Talked to Ms. Chic for a long time and they seemed to hit it off, which is great because as I have already learned, dating someone Ms. Chic does not like makes me life and our friendship uncomfortable. Not that its a motivating factor or anything but my life is just much smoother when I don't have to juggle 2 relationships.
So...we drank beer, went to the bar, PLAYED DARTS!!! (this is something Mr. Met and I used to do at the bar all the time and I LOVE IT. He was super into it...yay.) We went to Dunkin Donuts afterward to get some food and pick up some donut holes to eat in the morning.
So the good stuff... We did not have sex...again... It's weird because I had a conversation with my friend about this... and he said that if a guy REALLY likes you they will wait because they don't want you to do something you don't want to do or that you will regret. I'm not so sure about that...but whatever! I think he is a "Does not get off on BJ" kind of guy... boo. Either way he told me that I "make him want to do very bad things to me." LOL. I asked "like what?" and he refrained from answering. If I go to his place next week I think I'm just going to jump him...I mean...you got bad things in mind? PLEASE SHOW ME.
So saturday morning we woke up...I had a wedding to go to. He hung out...told me my dress was hot (IT WAS!!) and then I needed to go shoe shopping for shoes to match the dress so he offered to come along. (Told me not to make a habit of it though...lol).
I know I'm in definite like when I get Al Green stuck in my head... My mom says I'm nuts.
